We usually decorate inside and out a full day or so over the Thanksgiving break, but this year was a "mini-version" to say the least. The day before we were going to decorate and take the house off the market, was when we got a second showing that was supposed to move pretty fast. (They still haven't decided) We went ahead and put out the trees in the kids rooms, but didn't do much else. We had so many events and other ways to celebrate that it ended up working out just fine. Two weeks before Christmas we were going to go ahead and do the full tree and the realtor sent a text that day that we were coming out on top and we should hear something soon...so we put it off again and figured it wasn't meant to be this year.
We read the Shelf Elf and this year Shelby got to name him and she named him "Yay!" right away. He will be here watching the kids every day until Christmas Eve and he flies to the North Pole to report to Santa every night.
Cheers with hot chocolate!
I wasn't surprised when Shelby cried with Santa this year. She was so excited to go see him and said "Hi Santa" the whole way there and home with a smile. When we were by him, she was cautious, but when she went in his lap...well you'll see in the picture! The boys each got a good little one on one chat with him.
